Surface: 02

Yashika Sugandh participated in Surface: 02, the second edition of ArtBuzz Studios’ platform for emerging artists, held in New Delhi in 2019. Following the success of Surface: 01 in 2018, this exhibition continued the vision of founders Anubha Gupta and Amisha Chowbey to provide young artists with vital exposure and support without traditional financial barriers.

Held at the distinctive co-working space in Okhla Phase-II, Surface: 02 brought together a new cohort of emerging voices from across India. The exhibition maintained the founding principles of the Surface series: creating an open platform where young artists could showcase their work, engage with fellow practitioners, and connect with collectors and the broader art community. ArtBuzz Studios continued its artist-friendly approach, covering installation costs and ensuring full proceeds from sales went directly to participating artists.

The Surface exhibitions established themselves as significant opportunities for emerging artists to gain professional visibility and experience within Delhi’s contemporary art ecosystem. For Sugandh, participation in Surface: 02 marked another important step in building her professional practice and expanding her network within the vibrant community of young Indian contemporary artists. The exhibition reflected ArtBuzz Studios’ commitment to fostering holistic growth for creative professionals through exhibition opportunities, networking, and mentorship.
