National Kala Mela

Yashika Sugandh participated in “National Kala Mela” at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 2020. As India’s National Academy of Art, Lalit Kala Akademi serves as a premier institution dedicated to the promotion and development of visual arts across the country, making it a significant venue for emerging and established artists alike.

The National Kala Mela brought together diverse artistic voices in a celebration of Indian contemporary art, offering Sugandh an important platform to present her work within an established institutional framework. Lalit Kala Akademi has historically played a vital role in nurturing artistic talent and facilitating critical discourse around visual arts in India, providing exhibition opportunities, grants, and recognition to artists working across various mediums and styles.

Sugandh’s participation at Lalit Kala Akademi in 2020 occurred during a transformative period marked by the global pandemic, when institutional support for artists became particularly crucial. This exhibition was part of her growing presence within India’s contemporary art landscape, alongside her presentations at other prestigious venues including India Art Fair, IGNCA, and ICCR. The opportunity to exhibit at such a historically significant institution affirmed her emerging position within the broader conversation about contemporary Indian art and its evolving visual languages.
