Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts

Yashika Sugandh participated in a group exhibition at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), New Delhi, in 2020. This prestigious venue, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of India’s cultural heritage and arts, provided an important platform for Sugandh to present her work within a significant institutional context.

IGNCA, established as an autonomous trust under the Ministry of Culture, serves as a major center for research, academic pursuit, and dissemination of knowledge about the arts. The center’s commitment to fostering dialogue between traditional and contemporary artistic practices made it an ideal setting for Sugandh’s work, which draws deeply from Indian miniature painting techniques while addressing contemporary ecological and social concerns.

Her participation at IGNCA in 2020 occurred during a transformative year marked by the global pandemic, when artists were navigating unprecedented challenges in exhibiting and sharing their work. This exhibition represented one of the institutional platforms that continued to support emerging voices in Indian contemporary art during this period. Alongside her presentations at India Art Fair, Lalit Kala Akademi, and other prominent venues, IGNCA marked another significant milestone in establishing her presence within India’s contemporary art landscape.
